A CREATIVE THINK-TANK FOR ARCHITECTURE AND BEYOND
5/14 Buffalo
Masterplan + Memorial
Our project is a homage to the victims of the 2022 Buffalo tragedy, featuring a massive black sculpture inspired by Afro-American culture. Set within a free-form landscape, the sculpture stands as a profound tribute. Surrounding the monument, a designated cultural space fosters community engagement and remembrance. This integrated design aims to create a harmonious environment, where art, culture, and reflection converge to commemorate lives lost and celebrate the enduring spirit of unity.
Transforming the vacant plot into a dynamic free-form landscape, we positioned public facilities on its periphery. At the heart stands the black sculpture, emphasizing the gravity of the racist shooting. Beneath this landscape, a cultural center provides a communal space and support for those grappling with mental health issues, underscoring our commitment to healing, commemoration, and community well-being.
